“Is it still an interrogation if the interrogator is also drinking and answering questions?” She chuckled gently and shrugged. “Oh all innocence goes out the window when there’s vodka involved… actually I’m probably more likely to believe you if anything. I’d be more interested in just having a good time by that point though.”
“So in other words we could skip the interrogation and go straight to the vodka then? Since it seems you won’t be in a position to interrogate and I won’t be in a position to prove much at all? Which rather makes this entire conversation pointless don’t you think?”
Alessia chuckled and shook her head but her smile remained. “It wasn’t but I guess it could be. Especially with vodka involved as I do enjoy a good drink. How about we get a few bottles to make it even more interesting?”
“Several bottles of vodka and this becomes far more than a game of twenty questions. It becomes some sort of interrogation which is really not what it started out as,” Lottie pointed out. “I don’t think I could convince anyone of my innocence or otherwise in that state.”
“Yeah you can do that if you like,” Alessia replied with a shrug. “I’m sure he’ll just feed me whatever he’s running as the official reason for him sending that letter, and besides, I much prefer to find out about someone from them directly rather than taking someone else’s take on them. That way I can make up my own mind.”
“Is that so? Is this like a game of 20 questions or something because I only ever play that with a bottle of vodka.”
“Hmmm, seems a bit extreme for such a short amount of time,” Alessia replied and she couldn’t stop herself laughing gently at the display of supposed innocence. Her eyes flicked to the girl’s lips, seeing the way they twitched just made her even less convinced. The two shuffled forward slightly as the queue moved and Alessia smirked as an idea came to her. “Hmmm are you sure? If you can convince me of that I’ll buy your coffee.”
Lottie scrunched her nose at the request, wondering if this was one step closer to becoming some performing animal. “How about I just give you my professor’s name and you ask him for a reference. I’m not sure how else you think I can prove that to you.”
The loud laugh that erupted from the other girl confirmed Alessia had definitely hit the nail on the head and she smiled sweetly. It had been exactly the same at her own university so she knew it wasn’t just Verona, but she could also sympathise having been a student still herself not long ago. “Sounds like you missed one of the key modules,” she replied with a twist of her lip. “For the courses I run there is specific evidence required in order to sign off a unit and if it’s missed the student has to do something to evidence their knowledge. It’s either that… or they have that evidence and you pissed them off.” Alessia arched an inquisitive eyebrow and her tone turned playful. “You’re not a troublemaker in class are you gorgeous?”
“It was three days,” Lottie reiterated though she did let out another chuckle at the idea she had pissed off her tutor. “Troublemaker? Me? Never!” Lottie replied, her expression one of scandalised though her lips twitched far too much for anyone to believe her.
Alessia chuckled and shook her head, she knew she couldn’t outright say what she wanted as she was part of the university faculty but she didn’t completely disagree with the girl before her. “Having just been through their vigorous testing I can assure you all the lecturers are definitely clever and educated… in the field they teach. I have seen a few examples of a lack in understanding of how to be human and how not to be an asshole though. But don’t tell anyone I said that.” Her eyes studied the submissive intensely for a moment before she smiled softly. “What’s the stupid decision? If you don’t mind me asking.”
Lottie barked out a laugh as she heard what she already knew, a lack of humanity ran rife through the college. Covering her mouth at the loud sound that had just emitted from it she looked round to see if it was her turn to order yet before spinning back at the question with a deep sigh, waving the letter at the domme. “I had some…..let’s say family issues just before the end of the last semester and I missed a week of lab work. So now my professor has decided I either have to submit an additional assignment to prove I know the work or I have to retake the entire term. It’s just …..mean.” She finished with a huff not sure mean really covered how she felt but then fleeing Verona to avoid further questioning from the Watch couldn’t exactly be classed as family issues either.
Alessia was getting into a routine of grabbing a coffee on her way into work at the university as this particular coffee shop was often a good place to find out what the latest goings on were around Verona. Spotting the unmistakable letter head on the piece of paper grasped by the girl in front of her in line the Domme couldn’t help smiling and she was relieved that she didn’t recognise the girl, meaning she wasn’t one of her students. “Every time I have to write a letter on that paper I imagine the recipient saying exactly that when they open it,” she said lightly with a gentle laugh. “Thank you for confirming my theory – I’ll avoid sending them as much as I can from now on.”
Lottie turned, barking out a short laugh of surprise at the remark. “I would avoid them, especially if you are making a decision as dumb as this one. I mean it’s a university, presumably you are all supposed to be clever people,” she complained, assuming the woman behind her was a lecturer from what she said and unable to stop her tongue running away with her thoughts.
