Alessia chuckled and shook her head, she knew she couldn’t outright say what she wanted as she was part of the university faculty but she didn’t completely disagree with the girl before her. “Having just been through their vigorous testing I can assure you all the lecturers are definitely clever and educated… in the field they teach. I have seen a few examples of a lack in understanding of how to be human and how not to be an asshole though. But don’t tell anyone I said that.” Her eyes studied the submissive intensely for a moment before she smiled softly. “What’s the stupid decision? If you don’t mind me asking.”
Lottie barked out a laugh as she heard what she already knew, a lack of humanity ran rife through the college. Covering her mouth at the loud sound that had just emitted from it she looked round to see if it was her turn to order yet before spinning back at the question with a deep sigh, waving the letter at the domme. “I had some…..let’s say family issues just before the end of the last semester and I missed a week of lab work. So now my professor has decided I either have to submit an additional assignment to prove I know the work or I have to retake the entire term. It’s just …..mean.” She finished with a huff not sure mean really covered how she felt but then fleeing Verona to avoid further questioning from the Watch couldn’t exactly be classed as family issues either.
Text: When you have completed one months worth of classes. That was the deal. I’m not changing it now Charlotte. Be grateful I am letting you have it back at all.

“You might want to watch that tone with strangers,” he cautioned, frowning at the attitude. She obviously was just a child and seemed to have little idea or care for who he was, let alone his designation. “Your lack of manners isn’t attractive, and not everyone will be so friendly with someone they don’t know.” He smirked, seeing her struggle with the bartender, flagging him down himself for her before turning back to his own drink.
She opened her mouth to respond but then he attracted the bartender over and she turned her attention towards them. Ordering a vodka and coke she turned back to the man with a sickly, sweet smile, “Thank you so much for stepping in Sir. I will indeed work on my tone and manners.” Her drink appeared in front of her and she thanked the bartender, turning back with a smirk of acknowledgement as if to emphasis her manners.
Edmund chuckled at the attitude, one arm coming up to his chest defensively, palms flat and facing the other. “Relax. Easy– I was just trying to be friendly, one bar patron to another, sweetheart. No ill will intended.”
Lottie pursed her lips and rolled her eyes at the ‘sweetheart’ title. “Do you like being friendly? You might want to come up with more original questions then.” With a wave she tried to attract the bar tender’s attention, dropping her hand as she is not quick enough.
Luan jumped at the chance to not make her phone call and turned towards the voice that had spoken to her, locking her phone as she did so. “A t-tick? I don’t… Oh! I know w-what you mean,” the realisation became clear in her expression too and she giggled softly at the joke. A small sense of pride also building because she had ‘got’ the joke. “I ummm. I a-actually don’t own anything Nike. Or anything s-sporty actually,” she shrugged, a rather guilty expression on her face.
Lottie laughed a little at the girl’s reaction, quite pleased her joke had been so well received. “Nothing sporty at all? Not even a pair of running shoes at the back of your wardrobe that you bought and promised yourself you were going to get fit magically just by wearing them?”
Alessia was getting into a routine of grabbing a coffee on her way into work at the university as this particular coffee shop was often a good place to find out what the latest goings on were around Verona. Spotting the unmistakable letter head on the piece of paper grasped by the girl in front of her in line the Domme couldn’t help smiling and she was relieved that she didn’t recognise the girl, meaning she wasn’t one of her students. “Every time I have to write a letter on that paper I imagine the recipient saying exactly that when they open it,” she said lightly with a gentle laugh. “Thank you for confirming my theory – I’ll avoid sending them as much as I can from now on.”
Lottie turned, barking out a short laugh of surprise at the remark. “I would avoid them, especially if you are making a decision as dumb as this one. I mean it’s a university, presumably you are all supposed to be clever people,” she complained, assuming the woman behind her was a lecturer from what she said and unable to stop her tongue running away with her thoughts.
“What’s only a few days?” Daisy asked. She couldn’t help but overhear and she definitely couldn’t help but instinctively responding. But the Capulet had at least some decency and didn’t try to peek a look at whatever the other girl was reading. “Also I think you’re up next to order,” she giggled.
“What?” Lottie mumbled, looking round for a moment before noticing that indeed it is her turn to order. Doing so she steps to the side to wait on her coffee and soon the other woman is beside her again. “The stupid university are saying because I missed a few days of lab work at the end of last semester I have to submit an extra assignment or resit the year! It was literally like three days and it couldn’t be helped. It’s so dumb.”
The girl in line in front of her is discontented, and clearly focused on a piece of crumpled paper, though Celia waits patiently despite the line trickling down, and someone cutting in front of them both, but when it looks like the same thing is about to happen. She bites her tongue before clearing her throat quietly, and asking politely; her tone naturally frosty. “…Excuse me? You’ve been letting people in front of you for the better part of 2 minutes.. Are you okay?”
Lottie looks up in surprise at being addressed and turns her head to notice that indeed the queue has been moving and she is still in the same spot. “I’m fabulous as always,” she smirks though her lips don’t stretch as much as they usually would and she shuffles forward. Placing her order she carefully smooths out the paper and folds it to place it in her purse before turning with a slight sigh to the girl behind who actually had drawn her from her daze. “I’m sorry if I held you up,” she says with almost a genuine warmth.
“Idiots,” Lottie muttered as she stood in the queue for coffee rereading the letter in her hand. “It was only a few days.” Beginning to scrunch it up she quickly changed her mind, smoothing it out again so the University of Verona header was obvious at the top of the paper again. Her eyes trailed over the paper again as she stood frozen to the spot, the sinking feeling in her stomach that she couldn’t get out of this one as easily as most things.
Mia strolled through downtown Verona on her way to the library, stopping periodically to look at window displays for a few moments before moving on. Her shift was still a couple of hours away, but she had her tablet and notebooks in her bag, no shortage of things she could write, should she need to pass some time. One window display in particular caught her eye and the Domme stopped, looking, taking it all in. Still, she made no movements to go into the shop and examine further.
Lottie was getting her bearings again having arrived back in the city the night before. Her mind was full of things she needed to get done before her classes started again but number 1 on her list was getting some food in. Lifting her head she was just in time to avoid banging into the woman stopped in front of the window but with what seemed like a stream of people coming the other way she couldn’t get past. “You could see it much better if you actually went into the store. They will even let you examine the item close up,” she snapped. “Then you wouldn’t be blocking the path.”
